As sessile organisms, plants are unable to actively move away from challenges such as a predators or a changing climate. This module examines the mechanisms by which plant adapt, cope, and assimilate to changes in their environment, and the general principles of plant plasticity. We address the different ways in which plants can show flexibility in their morphology and physiology, from the organ to the whole-plant level, focusing on how, when and why plants express more or less plasticity.
